The Power of Google and Streaming Your Classroom or Event

You know there always seems to be a time when you wished you could either bring the outside world into your classroom or take your classroom to them. You know, classroom presentations that you’d like parents to see. Maybe you are holding an awards ceremony where the only real option for parents to participate is to put it on the web somehow. Or, maybe there is a guest speaker you would love to have working with your kids, but there is no way to physically get that person in your classroom. And if you take into account that we have a giant wireless cloud over the nature center and you have portable devices at your ready, you don’t even have to be in your classroom to benefit.

Well, Google has added Hangouts and Hangouts on Air to your school Google accounts. It is an awesomely easy way to stream your classroom or event live to the Internet or bring other folks to your kids. I could give you the step by step on how to do this, but someone has beat me to it. Check out this excellent tutorial on the Teacher Tech blog.

As always, let me know if I can be of any assistance with this.
